SKIN PREP Apply your preferred facial oil or balm to freshly cleansed skin, including face, neck and shoulders.
TECHNIQUE Use Cosmic Stone at a 15 degree angle to your skin. The intent is to have the majority of the flat stone surface make contact when possible for maximum skin-sculpting benefits. A gentle to light-medium pressure is recommended for an optimal technique. We prefer to keep our pace slow and intentional, but encourage you to experiement with what speed feels best.
REGIMEN A comprehensive Gua Sha routine starts with activating the neck to stimulate blood flow and encourage lymphatic drainage. Once all upward neck strokes are complete, continue on to each section of the face until your tool has passed over your entire complexion. Please keep in mind that it is normal to see some mild to light redness on the skin during your Gua Sha routine.
Cosmic Stone
How To Use
Place the deep Arc edge of Cosmic Stone at the center base of your neck. With light-medium pressure, stroke up your spine to your hairline. Repeat 3-5x.
Next, using the same pressure and upward stroke towards your hairline, continue on to the areas that are to the left and right of the spine on the back of your neck. Repeat on each side 3-5x.
TIP For the back section of the neck (to the sides of spine), we love using either the Wave (as shown) or Comb edge.
Using the Comb or Wave edge with light to light-medium pressure, glide Cosmic Stone from approximately where a shirt strap would fall on the shoulder as shown, up the side of your neck to behind your ear. Repeat 3-5x on both sides.
TIP Use whichever hand feels most comfortable and allows your tool to make optimal contact with your skin.
Starting with your tool placed just above the bone, stroke up the center of your neck with featherlight pressure to your chin using the Arc edge. Repeat 3-5x.
Next, with light-medium pressure using the Wave or Comb edge, continue on to the left and then right front sections of the neck. Begin just below the collarbone and glide up towards the jawline. Repeat 3-5x on each side.
TIP Use your opposite hand to gently anchor your skin.
Using the deep Arc edge with medium pressure, place Cosmic Stone at the center of your chin and glide your up towards your ear. Repeat on each side 3-5x.
TIP Use your opposite hand to gently anchor or follow your tool up your jaw.
Place your tool at the center of chin with the Wavelet edge up. Using light to medium pressure, sweep Cosmic Stone from your chin up your lower cheek towards your ear. Use your opposite hand to gently anchor, repeat 3-5x on each side.
After completing the lower cheek, move up to the upper cheek/cheekbone. Sweep out and upwards from your nose to your hairline using the Wave edge. Use your opposite hand to gently anchor, repeat 3-5x on each side.
TIP Experiment with which side of the tool feels best for you on this section. For focused contouring of the cheekbone, try the Arc edge.
With featherlight pressure and using your opposite hand to anchor, very gently sweep out from the inner corner of your eye upwards towards the temple ending at the hairline. Repeat 3-5x on each side.
TIP Try the Wavelet (as shown), Wave or tip of the Arc edge for this section. The Comb edge is not recommended for the delicate under-eye area.
Using the Arc edge with light-medium pressure, place your tool at the start of your brow. Following your brow bone, sweep outwards and upwards towards the temple ending at the hairline. Repeat 3-5x on each side.
TIP Gently anchor with the opposite hand and breathe deep.
Starting at the center of your forehead with with the Wavelet edge level to your brows, glide up towards the hairline using medium pressure. Repeat 3-5x.
Next, using the same edge and pressure, sweep up towards the hairline from just below the center of your brow. Repeat 3-5x on each side.
For the last section, place your tool at the outer corner of your eye and glide outwards and upwards over your temple to the hairline. Repeat 3-5x on each side.
TIP If experiencing tension or a headache, try a gentle massage with your tool at the hairline after each forehead stroke.
