Cosmic Crush 01
Victoria Lampley Berens

Founder of The Stax, a high jewelry consulting firm and curator of our favorite instagram account of the same name, Victoria Lampley Berens infuses her impeccable style into everything she creates. After years of lending her PR expertise and effortless eye to the lifestyle and design worlds, The Stax was founded in the spring of 2021 as a tribute to her late mother and their shared love of jewelry. Through her advisory, Victoria helps collectors and clients discover and create meaningful pieces while collaborating with both established and emerging designers from across the globe.

A London native with roots in Palm Beach and who is now based in LA, we are thrilled to feature Victoria as our first-ever Cosmic Crush. Discover with us the delights bringing elation and inspiration into Victoria’s life.

A piece of art that’s on your current mood board

This is hard as my whole family is in the arts somehow, including my beloved late mother whose paintings hang throughout my home! Here are a few pieces I am loving:

My 5-year-old son is currently tsunami-obsessed, and is really into drawing the entire family riding a wave, which always makes me laugh. Note our loyal pup little Zelda at the end of the wave looking like a little chess pawn.

My sister Alexandra Metcalf is an incredible artist, with her first upcoming solo show at the super esteemed 15 Orient Gallery in Brooklyn. I’ve been her biggest fan from day one.

My brilliant Aunt Stephanie and late Uncle Michael were an incredible pair. Both were prolific architects, who first met at Harvard, and then met again later in life and became partners in every way. Uncle Michael passed suddenly from COVID at the beginning of the pandemic, something our family is still healing from. This much loved duo often painted together in their leisure time at their seaside home in Rockport— Mercury Gallery, which has shown them for years, will be exhibiting their work in a joint show soon.

I'm majorly coveting an Oisin Byrne Cut Flower.

And lastly, I've been in love with this Alvaro Barrington painting ever since I laid eyes on it at Blum & Poe last year. One day.....*sigh*

Best kept IYKYK in your neighborhood

I'm super into lymphatic massages at the moment, which help keep me balanced and detoxed after busy work weeks where chugging coffee is the norm. I'm a major fan of Jackie Park. Not only has she become a friend and confidante of mine, she is a facial miracle worker with the kindest energy. Jackie is a holistic esthetician that specializes in facial contouring and lymphatic massage, who really prides herself on mixing her Korean roots into the most contemporary and fool-proof skincare secrets! Run, don't walk, friends!

RAM London ruby ring on Victoria Lampley Beren's hand on orange Debbonaire shawl
A recent favorite anything

I'm obsessed with my Holy Goat hand-woven shawls, with scenes from my home in England, or from travels in India. My mother-in-law gifted me these shawls two Christmases in a row from the best "word of mouth" shop in London, Debonnaire, owned and curated by the chicest of chic, Debbie von Bismarck. I really want one of their tropical motif shawls for spring in LA or their Greek holiday design for windy summer nights. Pictured here, I'm wearing my scarf and my mama's vintage boots from Milan.

I'm also obsessed with my RAM London rings. Ram was a friend of my mother's and is a London-based jeweler who makes the most amazing rare-gem and hand-hammered 22kt rings. Each piece is one-of-a-kind and I've been collecting his work for over a decade. I'm thrilled to say that they're exclusively for sale in the US via yours truly at The Stax. Shown here is one of his 11 carat ruby rings on my Holy Goat India shawl.

Favorite Substack or newsletter

I'm slowly becoming a Substack / newsletter enthusiast and love Opulent Tips by the one and only Rachel Tashjian. We recently became "text official" and I have a massive girl-crush on her. I also love Beauty IRL by one of my friends and muses, Darian Harvin, and Earl Earl by my stylin' mate, Laurel Pantin, who truly looks great in any hairstyle and pants were made to be worn by her.

Current nighttime skincare routine

My nightly ritual usually starts with either an epsom or magnesium salt bath where I'll add some Ouli's Ointment Ola Oil and if I'm feeling extra luxurious, I'll add a few drops of my Supernal oils to the bath as well. If I’m in need of some hydrating and brightening, I’ll use Biologique Recherche Crème Masque Vernix or the Vital C Mask by IMAGE Skincare whilst in the bath.

Post-bath, if I need a boost, some nights I'll apply iS Clinical Active Serum, which feels super tingly and effective, and other nights I'll use Biossance Squalane + Lactic Acid Resurfacing Night Serum (props to Harling Ross for introducing me to this amazing line). I then layer Eve Lom’s Time Retreat Intensive Night Cream on top.

My dear friend Christen of CAM Studio gave me this amazing soft n'fat Whipped Tallow all-purpose cream after hearing me winge about the dry heat in LA. I also love mixing Illumine or Cosmic Glow into both my body and facial moisturizers for extra emollience—I especially love to use Illumine when my skin needs extra hydration...Melissa, MAKE A BODY OIL PLEASE!!!

I also love Henne Lip Exfoliator a few times a week before bed and Egyptian Magic all over my hands and any chapped spots. I'll use this soothing salve on my kids during windy days when their little cheeks can get windburned too.

Lastly, I'll douse myself in Snow Lotus oils when I need an extra shield for bad vibes or for nights out I'll wear Taffin Le Vert fragrance.

A few last Qs...stripes or dots? Oh dear, I love them in equal measure! The Libra rising in me can't choose. Dots for my little kids, sweet clothing or for accessories like a Yayoi Kusama x Louis Vuitton change purse, and stripes for furniture, clothing, etc.
Sweet or savory? Mix them, always!
Monochromatic or multi-color? Multi-color. More is more!
Beach or Forest? BEACHHHH
Iced or hot coffee? Iced black coffee, baby. I brew it in the evening and then chill it overnight in a big mason jar. My husband and I are coffee nerds and always drink it straight up.
